Statement from Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams Following Vote to Approve Collective Bargaining Memorandum of Understanding with Detectives Association, Inc.

 

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - On Monday, Jan. 27, members of the Nassau County Legislature voted to approve a collective bargaining memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Detectives Association, Inc. (DAI) that spans from Jan. 2, 2018 to June 30, 2026.


Following the vote, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) made the following statement:


“With this agreement, Nassau County has implemented a long-term framework that the Legislature’s Independent Office of Budget Review has determined will increase the level of dedicated public safety resources by addressing the critical detective shortage in a manner that effectively manages future costs to Nassau taxpayers.”
